You may bring us books to sell or trade 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday in San Jose and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday in Campbell.
The process is fairly simple. You bring us your books. We look through them and choose which ones we think we can use and give you a cash and a trade amount for the books we do take. Sometimes we take no books, sometimes we take them all... usually it is somewhere between.
If you are looking for trade, it usually works out to be a three to one swap for similar valued books. If you are looking for cash, we pay from 20 to 25 percent of what we would sell the book for. Sometimes we will pay more for a book that is more expensive or collectible in some way. If you have any questions about how we buy books and what we pay for them, please ask us.
That is a hard question to answer because it usually comes down to whether or not we think an individual book will sell. We can't say fiction is good to bring in because some authors sell and some don't. But there are some books we do not take.
We do take some romances but they have to be somewhat current and we usually only give trade for romances. There are other sections where current titles are better than older titles: business and self-help.
